After the ‘earth shaking’ news that the Raiders cleared out their scouts a week before the draft, Mike Mayock said that was the plan all along and part of that plan was that many of those scouts would not be back.Mayock took over for former General Manager Reggie McKenzie this offseason and since Mayock wasn’t showing up with an entourage of scouts, he was put in charge of the the scouts that were already here, many of whom McKenzie had brought onboard with him. One of the new hires who came to Oakland along with McKenzie was Ken Herock as Director of College Scouting. You may remember Herock was named interim GM after McKenzie was fired late last season until Mayock came onboard at the close of the season. Now Herock would appear to be among those departing the organization as the Raiders have hired a new Director of College Scouting — Jim Abrams. Alex Marvez was the first to report the Raiders were looking to hire Abrams and it was later confirmed by another report from Neil Stratton of Inside the League. As Statton notes, Abrams worked with Gruden as a scout during his time in Tampa. He comes over from the Cowboys where he was a West Coast area scout since 2012.Follow @LeviDamien Keelan Doss, WR, UC DavisMeasurables6’2", 211 poundsStats2016: 66 receptions, 911 yards, 10 TD2017: 115 receptions, 1499 yards, 7 TD2018: 118 receptions, 1334 yards Bo Jackson Jersey White , 9 TDStrengthsDoss has..." />Skip to main contentclockmenumore-arrownoyesHorizontal - WhiteSilver And Black Pridean Oakland Raiders communityLog In or Sign UpLog InSign UpFanpostsFanshotsRaidersOddsAboutMastheadCommunity GuidelinesStubHubMoreAll 322 blogs on Horizontal - WhiteFanposts Fanshots Raiders StoriesScheduleRosterStatsYahoo Raiders NewsYahoo Raiders Team PageYahoo Raiders ReportYahoo Raiders Depth ChartYahoo Raiders TransactionsYahoo Raiders PhotosOdds About Masthead Community Guidelines StubHub ✕UDFA Scouting Report: Keelan Doss has a chance to break into stacked Raiders WR corpsNew,54commentsPDTShareTweetShareShareUDFA Scouting Report: Keelan Doss has a chance to break into stacked Raiders WR corpsJohn David Mercer-USA TODAY SportsKeelan Doss, WR, UC DavisMeasurables6’2”, 211 poundsStats2016: 66 receptions, 911 yards, 10 TD2017: 115 receptions, 1499 yards, 7 TD2018: 118 receptions, 1334 yards, 9 TDStrengthsDoss has good size for a receiver at 6’2” and he runs the full route tree. He is a smart and savvy player who runs crisp, clean routes. He has excellent ball skills and reliable hands. He has impressive body control and can make the contested catches and almost never drops the ball.WeaknessesThe UC Davis product lacks some suddenness in his feet, and isn’t the most explosive athlete. He can struggle with maintaining top speed in traffic, and takes some time to work up to his second gear. There were concerns that he wasn’t very fast https://www.raiderslockerroom.com/authentic-derek-carr-jersey , but he ran a 4.4 at his Pro Day so he is plenty fast once he gets going. However, he does struggle to separate at the top of his routes, and his success came against lower-level competition.VerdictKeelan Doss has been a tremendously productive receiver for three seasons with the UC Davis Aggies, accumulating over 4,000 receiving yards and 28 TDs. He has all the traits and intangibles that one likes to see in a receiver prospect, and was considered a fifth-round draft prospect going into April. However, a pectoral injury suffered at the Combine not only kept him from doing all the receiver drills, it also likely knocked him out of the Draft entirely. The Raiders got a real steal here with a guy who should have been drafted early on the third day of the draft.Fit with RaidersOakland has addressed their WR position more than any other spot on their team. They have added guys like Antonio Brown, Tyrell Williams, JJ Nelson, Ryan Grant, and Hunter Renfrow. That’s not including some of the guys the Raiders added last year like Marcell Ateman and Saeed Blacknall. But Doss is better than several names on that list and as long as he performs well in camp he should be able to carve out a spot on the Raiders. The guy Doss reminds me of the most is Jordy Nelson, and the Raiders could always use a player like that who is still young.Watch Keelan Doss Highlights here
